“The Mother’s Day Secret: How To Make Your Customers (And Mom) Happy”

We know that happy customers will stay with our business longer.
We know that happy customers will purchase more and more often.
We know that happy customers will use WOM (word of mouth) to tell their friends about us.

But the BIG question is this:  How do we really make our customers happy?

Here is the secret from an unlikely, unbusiness-like source…  your momma!

Yeah, you heard me right.  Your MOMMA!
No.   I’m not trying to start a fight with you.  🙂

I’m just telling you the same thing that makes your mom happy is the same thing that will make your customers happy.

What is this thing?

A great article on CNN.com reveals the secret.

It’s titled, “For a Mother’s Day present, how about a little undying gratitude?”

In the article, comedian Anita Renfroe does a great job at reminding us of the one thing that will really make your mom’s day tomorrow: true gratefulness. (Read the article, really.  You’ll like it.  Click the link above.)

As I read the article, I realized that this is the exact same thing our customers want: true appreciation and gratitude for them.

Isn’t that what YOU want from a person or business you take time to spend your hard-earned money with?  I know I do.

And that simple, genuine act would go a long way.  It would mean a lot to me and really bond me to that business, because I would know they care enough about me to show me they really appreciate me.

So as we are on the eve of Mother’s day, let’s make sure we find a REAL, genuine way to show our mom how grateful we are for all she’s done and does for us.

It’s the least we can do for all the love she’s shown us.  It’s the best way to show our love back to her.

And as you enter into this next week, still thinking of this special day and that special woman in your life, let it spur you on to show your true gratitude for all your customers – past and present.

It’s the best way you can show them you care about them… and maybe even love them.  (See: What Would Happen If You LOVED Your Customers?“)

P.S. As usual, if you enjoyed this post, then use the tools below to share it with your friends, associates, and your mom!  🙂  (Ok, maybe your mom wouldn’t appreciate it… unless she runs a business.)
